The DEEPSPACE Robot (2019)
This robot features a mechanic wheel design that allows for fast and omnidirectional movement. This drive train has 6 spokes in an open design which allows us to switch it to a 6 wheel traction drive. The hatch mechanism was designed to be able to pick hatches off of the ground, but we ended up using it negligibly and we would decide that if we did it again, we would not have made it articulate. The cargo mechanism was originally a harvester and shooter. For worlds we decided to change the design so that it would not be able to pick cargo up off the ground and instead be more accurate and reliable with a static mechanism. This newer mechanism can only get cargo from the driver station, but is more stable.
